Last week I presented on workforce at ASAE’s 2022 Marketing, Membership and Communications Conference. For many associations, the top challenge facing their membership stems from the nationwide workforce shortage.

Associations can become a stronger resource by helping their members retain and recruit the workforce of the future, while also building a more inclusive environment.

• Zero in on your members’ needs. Build a compelling narrative for why workers should join your industry.

• Find untapped groups of workers that sit outside mainstream employment.

• Look beyond the traditional resume and reevaluate job descriptions to discover a stronger labor force and thriving industries.
