Building consensus within associations is not easy, but transparency helps.
Each year, we bring our members together to update our state and federal policy principles, which are used to advocate on key policies impacting our industry. There is not always 100 percent agreement, and not every policy issue impacts each company, but we listen to and work with our members to build consensus.
Establishing our principles provides transparency not only for our members, but also for policy makers and the media. It allows us to be nimble and reactive when necessary, so we can be effective advocates for the industry.
