Missing the watercooler: How HR professionals must reinvent company culture in a post-COVID workplace

by The 100 Companies

HR professionals must foster a positive workplace culture. This entailed new difficulties during COVID and continues to be tricky now that many employees are remote or hybrid.

An association’s culture is paramount. It’s just as important as being productive and collaborative.

When we  lost the art of the watercooler days, I needed to get creative. Among other measures, we implemented regular virtual luncheons using food delivery services and vouchers and hosted town hall-type meetings allowing our employees to ask questions and get to know their colleagues.

Our creative efforts paid off – we weren’t part of The Great Resignation – no increase in turnover.

– Eric Weaver, Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer, Universities Space Research Association
