Engaging Stakeholders for a More Equitable Outdoors: Q&A with AHS’s Heather Klein Olson

by The 100 Companies

“Our aim is to work JEDI into our DNA, so it becomes a natural part of everything we do,” shares Heather Klein Olson, Senior Director of Development for the American Hiking Society (AHS).

JEDI — or Justice, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion — is AHS’s commitment to ensure an outdoor community that is equitable for all people. AHS helps members contact their representatives in support of equitable outdoor legislation. They also host “Hike the Hill,” an in-person event that does the same.

Watch the interview to learn how AHS advances their mission of empowering all to enjoy, share and preserve the hiking experience.
