Say goodbye to the days of passively sitting in an audience listening to an “expert.” Science shows lecture-style learning isn’t as effective as letting participants engage together; the highest levels of learning come when we teach ourselves – incorporating group exercises in education sessions makes the information “sticky.”
What’s better – 30 peers discussing an issue or listening to a single speaker? Ignite all the brains in the room, not just the one on stage. Today’s successful education sessions leverage a facilitator for peer-to-peer-style learning. If you do use an expert, be sure to give the group immediate opportunity to discuss and apply the lesson.
